Stunning Before And After Shots That Show The Effort Put Into Hollywood’s VFX And Makeup
‘Deadpool 2’ introduced us to the character ‘Cable’ played by Josh Brolin. He was a soldier from the future o he had many cybernetic parts including an entire robotic arm and an eye. The makeup team spent hours putting on the required parts to make the actor look as comic accurate as possible. The end result with no CGI looked terrific.
One of the hardest comic book characters to bring to life was ‘Hellboy’. The character from the Dark Horse Comics graphic novel is not your usual Marvel or DC superhero. To make the actor Ron Perlman look as comic accurate as possible an entire layer of makeup had to be placed on the actor’s face. The entire process took hours but looked incredible for 2004.

One of the most talked-about comic book to movie performances was Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the ‘Joker’ in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’. The actual prosthetics was minimal with just scars around the actor’s mouth but the makeup was impressive. The even more impressive fact was that the actor did the makeup himself to make the character look even more authentic.

When the talks about rebooting the ‘IT’ franchise came the directors wanted to make it as scary as possible. Based upon Stephen King’s most iconic work, the movie revolves around ‘Pennywise the Dancing Clown’ who is a shape-shifting entity not of this world. The makeup used on actor Bill Skarsgård was incredible and scared the audience very well.
