Microcephaly not linked to Zika, physicians in Brazil suspect larvicide instead

With Zika raging in South America, an associate disease linked to the virus is causing a grave cause for concern. Microcephaly is reaching alarming levels in Brazil threatening to make a considerable number of a new born generation deformed. Microcephaly is threatening to the point of public health services advising pregnant women worldwide to take precautions. However in a total turnaround from what is being linked to Zika, occurrences in Brazil could possibly prove that microcephaly can be caused by larvicide instead.

1 Microcephaly causes children to be born with small heads and undeveloped brains

Microcephaly is a dreaded malformation that attacks pregnant women. If contracted, the virus spreads to the fetus and the child is born with a malformed small head. This is due to an undeveloped brain. It can be a congenital condition or could be detected in the first stages of a baby’s life. Microcephaly causes seizures and poor intellect. However problems in motor physical movements will only be detected later and there is no cure for microcephaly.
