Surprising as this may sound, but Dr Janniger says the condition is actually an enhanced and alleviated condition of yeast that already is present on almost every person’s skin. When out of control it grows into Tinea Versicolor.
Yeast prefers warm moist areas such as your groins and armpits growing especially when you’re hot and sweaty. The infection easily takes hold of those with weakened immunity, hormonal imbalances, and on skin that is prone to excess oil secretion.
