15 Images That Show Deep ‘Star Wars’ Is Embedded In Our Culture
The world first got a glimpse of ‘Star Wars’ in 1977 with the release of ‘Episode IV – A New Hope’ which was created and directed by George Lucas. The movie was an instant hit as there was nothing like that ever seen before. The movie broke box office records and even new grounds for VFX work.
It was followed by ‘Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back’ in 1980 and ‘Episode VI – Return of the Jedi’ in 1983. Together these formed the now-beloved ‘Original Star Wars Trilogy’. It was followed by a prequel trilogy, comics, video games, and even animated cartoons.
1The best marriage proposal
This is an incredibly cute way to propose to your partner who is ‘Star Wars’ fan. The line was taken from ‘Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back’ right after Darth Vader chops off Luke’s hand. This is a really cute spin on the classic quote. What makes this even more special is the ring inside the lightsaber as lightsabers are known to have a crystal inside them.
2The shadow is strong
‘Star Wars’ fans are constantly looking for things that remind them about their favorite franchise and this is an incredible find. Imagine taking a walk with your spouse only to notice that their shadow looks like the one and only Darth Vader. We have to admit that is one good looking Darth Vader shadow.
3A tribute to R2-D2
Since the release of ‘Star Wars’ people have noticed that observatories around the world look like the head of everyone’s favorite droid R2-D2. This observatory was the lucky one to get painted to resemble R2-D2’s color scheme. This is an incredible tribute to one of the most beloved robots in cinema history.
4A TIE fighter
This image was taken on a playground where one of the equipment looks like a TIE fighter from ‘Star Wars’. These are the planes used by the Galactic Empire and are among the most recognizable pieces of cinema history. We have to admit if we were the ones who saw this even we would stop and take a picture.
The headrest in this car looks like the head of a Battle Droid and we can see the resemblance. They are best known for being embarrassingly weak against any enemy. Thankfully in the later movies, they were given some power upgrades that made them a bit stronger for the Jedi to face off against.
